So… I have a favor to ask of y’all…
Could you please go to my page on Spotify, click on the big green “play” button, and then just leave it playing for a few hours, or a few days, or a few weeks?
If you don’t want to listen to the music, you can turn off your volume, it doesn’t matter, you won’t hurt my feelings.
Why would I like you to do this, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you…
The way Spotify’s algorithms work, the more my songs are played, the more they get put into other people’s “recommended” lists. That is, if people listen to songs that are similar to mine, Spotify will recommend to them that they listen to my songs as well. Or, my songs will be placed into their “autoplay” streams, which means they’ll play automatically as others are just listening to Spotify.
The past couple of weeks, my songs have kind of been making a move up in the Spotify charts/algorithms. So if everyone just goes in and puts my songs on repeat for a few hours/days/weeks/etc., it could just kick me over the top. And like I said, you don’t have to actually listen if you don’t want to (although I’d like it if you did — at least the first time through the list). You can just mute your speakers and let the songs play in the background.
